Northport Symphony Orchestra Concert

The Northport Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Eric Mahl, is pleased to present the first concert of its 2025-2026 season, featuring Ludwig van Beethoven’s groundbreaking “Symphony No. 3,” the “Eroica.” It is one of Beethoven’s seminal works, challenging the traditions of the Classical era and establishing the foundation for the Romantic era. The program also includes the “Overture to The Marriage of Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “Symphony No. 7” by Jean Sibelius. Ticket price is $15 at the door.

Held every Saturday from 8am to 12:30pm through November 22, the market runs rain or shine in the small parking lot at the end of Main Street, next to Cow Harbor Park.

Get into the holiday spirit at Santaport, a cherished Centerport holiday tradition. New to the “boutique” treasures event is a Christmas Market, inspired by holiday street fairs, which will feature festive handcrafted gifts, Christmas decorations, baked goods and more. Bring a camera for pictures with Santa, meet local author Sarah Zagaja and therapy dog, Fenway and enjoy a Kid Zone with holiday crafts and games.


Vanderbilt Tree Lighting and Santa

Saturday, November 29, 5pm

Vanderbilt Museum, 180 Little Neck Road, Centerport

The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum invites the community to begin the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting in the Mansion Courtyard. Doors open at 4:30 for the event. Santa Claus, the guest of honor, will visit with children in the Lancaster Room, where they may hand their letters to Santa. Or they can drop their letters in a special Santa Claus mailbox in the Courtyard, and they will be sent directly to the North Pole. The event is free, but registration is required. Northport Holiday Tree Lighting

Northport’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting is here. Expect caroling, community cheer and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will arrive aboard Northport fire trucks. Chosen by Northport Mayor Donna Koch this year to light the tree is Deputy Mayor Meghan Dolan Saporita, her husband Greg and their three children. Come early, expect a crowd! Northport’s 20th Annual Lighting of the Leg Lamp

Saturday, November 29, 6:30 to 7:30pm

The Firefly Artists, 90 Main Street, Northport

What began 20 years ago as a gag gift in Main Street’s hardware store window has become one of Northport’s most beloved holiday traditions. The 20th Annual Lighting of the Leg Lamp will feature performances by the Northport High School Tigerettes, Posey School of Dance and the Community Playhouse of Northport, with Shipwreck Diner providing hot cocoa. 


East Northport Community Tree Lighting 

Tuesday, December 2, beginning at 6pm

Railroad Plaza, Larkfield Road, East Northport

There will be lights, music and holiday cheer at the annual East Northport tree lighting. Come to Railroad Plaza (Clock Tower Park) on Larkfield Road for holiday music and caroling, hot cocoa and cookies, photos with Santa and the lighting of the tree. 


The Great Holiday Cookie Swap & Shop

Come join O'ts Cookies at Nest on Main for a festive evening filled with delicious treats and holiday cheer. Get ready to swap your favorite homemade cookies with fellow cookie enthusiasts and shop for unique gifts to spread joy this holiday season. Please bring two dozen cookies and the recipe to share with other attendees. 100% of ticket sales will be donated to World Central Kitchen. Northport Village Storytelling

Friday, January 9, 7:30pm

St. Paul's Methodist Church, 270 Main Street, Northport

Expect some good old-fashioned, in-person, human connection via another live storytelling event, right here at home. The theme is busted, as in a busted bone, heart or spirit. Times of being busted flat broke or getting caught breaking a rule – and what happened afterwards. Five storytellers will share their crafted stories; audience members can place their name in a hat should they choose; if called, they’ll have five minutes to tell a personal story based on the theme.
