Harry Potter Day returns to Northport Village this Saturday
The second annual Harry Potter Day, a Village-wide celebration featuring one event for families and another for adults, will take place this Saturday, August 1.
Northport Village will get a little more magical this Saturday, August 1, when History Repeatn’ hosts their second annual Harry Potter Day, a Village-wide celebration featuring one event for families and another for adults. The day will include the Great Wizarding Quest, an all-ages scavenger hunt and sorting experience, followed by the Hogsmeade Crawl, a Harry Potter-themed trivia and bar crawl through the Village for ages 21+ only.
The Great Wizarding Quest runs from 11am to 1pm and invites young witches, wizards and muggles to explore Northport Village with a themed scavenger hunt. Families can expect games, crafts, photo opportunities, prizes and a “house sorting ceremony,” where children can discover whether they belong to Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.
Several Northport businesses will be joining the celebration with themed offerings throughout the day. Visitors can enter the Ravenclaw Raffle for prizes and gift cards to Einstein’s Attic, enjoy “Expecto S’mores Ice Cream” at LICs Ice Cream (created and served for a limited time), pick up ButterBeer Cookies at The Village Cookie (from July 31 through August 2), and visit SweetArts for a Harry Potter souvenir painting craft on August 1 (for an additional fee).
Later in the day, the celebration shifts to an adults-only event with the Hogsmeade Crawl, beginning at 1:30pm. Participants start with a sorting ceremony of their own before heading out on a wizarding-themed trivia crawl through Northport Village, earning house points through trivia challenges along the way. The crawl also includes themed cocktails, drink specials and a mid-crawl bar food break included with admission.
A portion of proceeds from Harry Potter Day will benefit Paws of War, a nonprofit whose mission is to bring together veterans, first responders and rescued animals through service, rescue and support programs.
