Residents will hear from three candidates running for two seats on the Northport Village Board of Trustees tomorrow, March 12, as the Northport Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Meet the Candidates night.

Held at the Northport American Legion on Woodside Avenue, the event will allow for opening and closing statements from candidates Rich Boziwick, Ernest Pucillo and Dave Weber. Both Pucillo and Weber are running as incumbents. Boziwick, a longtime resident active in Village groups and events, announced his candidacy in January.

The Village election will take place the following Tuesday, March 19, from 6am to 9pm at Village Hall.

Moderated by Chamber co-director James Izzo, Meet the Candidates night will include questions submitted by Northport Village residents present at the event.

Opening statements will last approximately five minutes per candidate, with separate rounds allowing candidates to first discuss their personal and professional background, then their reason for running.

The questions-and-answer forum will be approximately 45 minutes long. Candidates will be given the opportunity to answer three questions each. Questions will be read to the candidates by the moderator; the order of each question will be determined by lottery.

Candidates will have five minutes each for closing statements.

The event will not be livestreamed or recorded.

Meet the Candidates night will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, March 12 at the American Legion, 7 Woodside Avenue in Northport Village. Election Day is Tuesday, March 19; residents can vote at Village Hall, 224 Main Street, Northport, from 6am to 9pm.

Longtime Northport Village resident Rich Boziwick, left, and incumbents Ernest Pucillo (center) and Dave Weber Jr., are running for two available seats on the Northport Village Board of Trustees. Each term is for four years. For more info on the candidates, click here.
