School district budget passes; all three incumbents retain seats on board

The Northport-East Northport school district’s 2022-2023 budget passed on May 17, receiving 2,285 “yes” votes and 1,674 “no” votes. The results of the vote and trustee election were delivered to the community at approximately 10:15pm, via Zoom and to a small group of spectators in the William J. Brosnan building.

Incumbent trustees Thomas Loughran, Allison Noonan and Larry Licopoli were reelected to the board of education, defeating newcomer Frank Labate.

Proposition 2, which authorizes the district to spend $5,694,660 on various building projects, also passed, 2,983 to 958.

The final vote tallies in the race for trustee are as follows:
Thomas Loughran: 2,729 votes
Allison Noonan: 2,676 votes
Larry Licopoli: 2,528 votes.

Frank Labate received 1,754 votes.
