Let Pride begin: Events leading up to the third annual Northport Pridefest

The leadup to Northport’s third annual Pridefest in the Park is here, with a Pints for Pride event at Sand City Brewery tomorrow, May 9 serving as the “season opener” for more than a month’s worth of local Pride events.
Pints for Pride will take place from 5 to 9pm. A portion of every beer purchased with a drink ticket goes to supporting Pridefest, which will take place on Saturday, June 14 from 12:30 to 4:30pm in Northport Village Park.

Northport Pridefest Paint and Sip
Saturday, May 17, 12-3pm
RB Homes Realty, 131 Scudder Ave, Northport
Tickets ($45 per person) include brunch bites, wine, easel and all paint materials to make a colorful rendition of the Northport Village dock. SPace is limited to 50 people for this tented, outdoor event. Purchase tickets here. All paint materials and venue are generously donated by Tiffany Asadourian of Art Pop.
Multi-Faith Prayer Service
Thursday, May 29, 7pm
Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street, Northport
Join Trinity Episcopal Church for the first ever Northport Pridefest multi-faith prayer service. Religious organizations from across the Town of Huntington will participate in the event. #allarewelcome
Pridefest Flag Raising Ceremony

Northport Village Hall, 224 Main Street, Northport
The ceremonial Pride flag raising, hosted by Mayor Donna Koch. The Pride flag will fly over Village Hall and Police Headquarters throughout the month of June.
In Fashion Exhibit and Reception
Friday, May 30, 12:30pm
Northport Historical Society, 215 Main Street, Northport
A reception in honor of the historical society’s new exhibit “In Fashion” will immediately follow the Pride flag-raising ceremony. This exhibit delves into the powerful stories behind the clothing we wear, uncovering the material culture of different communities. Through these stories, the exhibit encourages a deeper understanding of how individual, spiritual, and cultural influences shape identities. Refreshments will be served. RSVP here.
The Art of Belonging
Throughout June
Northport Public Library, 151 Laurel Ave, Northport
NIOT Northport presents an exhibit featuring artists from grades K-12 and the depictions of what “belonging” means to them. The exhibit hopes to foster a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and connection among the artists and all of those who experience their art. All proceeds will be donated to Northport PrideFest. An opening reception will take place on Friday, June 6, from 5 to 6pm.
