Keep shining: Second annual Sunset Gala a celebration of community spirit and service

Last Saturday, June 8, the Northport Journal hosted its second annual Sunset Gala, a gathering of over 100 people joined together to honor those who help our community shine – the people who, through their everyday actions, add glimmers of strength, hope and happiness to Northport and East Northport. 

Part of the Northport Journal’s mission as a local news source has always been to share stories of hope and passion, kindness and creativity – to foster connections and inspire action. 

In addition to our honorees, the room – a full house at The View at Crab Meadow Golf Course – was filled with mentors, leaders, educators, innovators, role models and neighbors who make a difference by doing what they love.

Taking center stage were four honorees nominated by their fellow community members and voted as this year’s “glimmers” by a committee of last year’s honorees. Thank you to John and Theresa Braun, Tiffany Asadourian and Nora Nolan for their selfless contributions to the community and for making Northport-East Northport a better place to live, work, learn and play.
