Fire departments keep Santa busy this weekend with local stops Saturday and Sunday

Get ready for a weekend of Santa sightings as both the Northport and East Northport fire departments plan to take Santa on a little holiday tour this Saturday and Sunday. 

The Northport Village Santa Run, an annual tradition hosted by the Northport Volunteer Fire Department, is scheduled for this Saturday, December 16. Hook & Ladder Company 1, along with Engine Company 1, will be drive Santa and his helpers around the Northport area (special appearances in years past have included a very in-character Grinch, as well as Mickey Mouse, toy soldiers and more). Please note: signs will be posted at the scheduled Santa stops, listed below. Times are approximate, so allow 15 minutes either way. Listen for the sleigh bells! 

11:15am: June and Scudder Ave. (by the Northport Public Library)
11:30am: Soundcrest Avenue and Seaview Terrace
11:45am: Highland and Douglas Avenues
12:30pm: Steers Avenue and Terry Road
12:45pm: Nautilus Ave and Dolphin Lane
1:00pm: Hillside Avenue and West Street
1:15pm: Ellis Avenue and Butler Place
6:15pm: Lewis Oliver Farm (Burt Avenue)
8:30pm: Drive up and down Main Street

On Sunday, December 17, volunteer firefighters from the East Northport Fire Department will escort Santa all around town as well, making stops at the following shopping centers:

11am: Northport Stop and Shop (454 Fort Salonga Road, Northport)
3pm: Pat’s Marketplace (9 Hewitt Square, East Northport)
