The Made in Huntington Film & TV Festival has announced its lineup of speakers for its first “Meet the Filmmakers” discussion entitled “Fashion, Film and Photos...A Conversation Among Friends of Bill Cunningham.”
The discussion focuses on “The Times of Bill Cunningham,” a documentary about the late, legendary New York Times fashion photographer. The film is written and directed by Huntington Bay resident, author and former TV executive Mark Bozek, who is joined in a moderated conversation by fashion industry and design icons including supermodel Pat Cleveland, past Vogue fashion director Tonne Goodman, former NY Times art director Carol Dietz, and the noted Cuban-born artist Ruben Toledo. The discussion will be moderated by Fox5 TV personality Christal Young, who is the co-host of Good Night New York and lifestyle reporter for Good Day New York.
This is the first event branded as a “Made in Huntington” program. It will be presented on Friday evening, November 8 from 6 to 8pm in the Spotlight Room at the Paramount, located at 370 New York Ave in Huntington Village.
Huntington Town Supervisor Ed Smyth said of the event, “We are excited to feature filmmakers like Mark Bozek who have a direct connection to Huntington, as part of the festival’s Meet The Filmmaker series.” The Town’s Office of Film & Television continues to attract film and TV productions in Huntington, Smyth said, and this “Meet The Filmmaker” series is an opportunity to “showcase some of our most popular film locations, local service providers and hospitality businesses.”
Joe Schramm, the festival producer and director of the town’s Office of Film & Television, said attendees will have the opportunity to see a trailer from the documentary and ask questions of the panelists at the end of the moderated conversation. They may also purchase a personally autographed copy of Bozek’s latest book and an autographed reproduction of the book’s cover, designed by the book’s art director, Carol Dietz.
General admission tickets cost $25 and include two drink coupons and hors d’oeuvres. The bar will be open for additional purchases. Tickets can be purchased here or at the Paramount box office.
