It’s that time of year when events are plentiful and it’s hard to keep track of what you can squeeze in and when. The Journal has provided below a list of popular events happening between now and the new year, so mark your calendars and get planning. Northport Village Christmas Tree Lighting and Caroling
Friday, November 24, 7pm in Village Park
Sponsored by the Northport Fire Department and the Northport Chamber of Commerce, this annual event draws crowds. Stick around for a visit from Santa on his firetrucks.

Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 25, all day
Support the businesses that give Northport and East Northport their unique appeal. Shop local this Saturday and every day!

Annual Leg Lamp Lighting
Saturday, November 25, 6:30pm
Outside The Firefly Artists, 90 Main Street, Northport
A true community event you won't believe until you see! Featuring performers from Posey School of Dance, the Tigerettes, The Drama Kings and, of course, the leg lamp lighting countdown. The Northport Shipwreck Diner will uphold its tradition of offering the Village hot chocolate. Plus, some special surprises. Reception with raffles to follow inside the Firefly.

Huntington’s Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting
Saturday, November 25
The Town of Huntington encourages everyone to shop local this holiday season. Join TOH officials on November 25 starting at 11am to kickoff Huntington’s Small Business Saturday.  Stick around for the Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting.

East Northport Holiday Tree Lighting
Tuesday, December 5, 6pm
Railroad Plaza, Larkfield Road
Hot chocolate and cookies, carols and a visit from Santa at this annual holiday event!

It’s a Wonderful Life at the Museum
Thursday, December 7, 6pm
Northport Historical Society, 215 Main Street, Northport
Join the Northport Historical Society at the museum to watch the holiday classic, It's  A Wonderful Life. Education Coordinator Carol Taylor will delve into the history of the film and provide facts and trivia with prizes and raffles to be won. $5 per person. Refreshments provided. Register here.

Santa and Mrs. Claus Walk Main Street

Stops throughout Northport Village
Time your holiday visit to Main Street right and meet the North Pole's most lovely couple.

Northport Menorah Lighting
Monday, December 11, 7-8pm
Northport Village, by the harbor
Celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights with song, prayer and plenty of joy as East Northport Jewish Center hosts its annual menorah lighting.

Northport Chorale Concert
Friday, December 15, 8pm

Northport Village Santa Run
Saturday, December 16, times and route TBD
An annual tradition hosted by the Northport Volunteer Fire Department, featuring numerous stops throughout Northport Village and featuring Santa, Mrs. Claus, and many familiar characters. Times and locations of stops to be published soon! 

Viki Sorrentino Foundation Holiday Concert
Saturday, December 16 at 7pm
First Presbyterian Church, 330 Main Street, Northport
Join the Viki Sorrentino Foundation for some holiday cheer. All proceeds go to the Viki Sorrentino Scholarship Fund at LIU Post to support music education.

Winter Funderland for All Ages
Sunday, December 17, 1pm
Northport Historical Society, 215 Main Street, Northport
The Society hosts an afternoon of holiday fun for all ages including crafting stations, gingerbread house crafts with SweetArts and more. Full event list coming soon!

RB Realty’s Second Annual Gingerbread Contest
Submissions due December 18
Get in the holiday spirit bright and early by planning and creating your dream gingerbread house! RB Homes Realty is hosting its second annual Gingerbread House Contest, with all submissions due by Monday, December 18. Each entry will receive a goodie bag and be entered into the contest. After the deadline, a link will be sent out so the public can vote for their favorite creations. Compete for a chance to win big prizes, including gift cards to local shops and restaurants, and a special secret prize for the top winner.
