The Town of Huntington Department of Public Safety announced on Thursday, March 21 upgrades to the commuter parking program for Long Island Railroad stations in Northport, Greenlawn and Cold Spring Harbor, making it possible for travelers without parking permits to buy a day pass for $12.

The upgrades, effective April 15, 2024, “will enhance commuter parking services for residents and commuters utilizing any of the three LIRR stations,” TOH representatives shared in a press release, “providing a convenient solution for those traveling on a day-to-day basis.”

To further streamline the parking process, users will have the ability of handling their parking session directly from their smartphone. This feature allows commuters to pay, extend, and manage their session.

As a reminder, parking at these stations is free from 5pm to 6am daily, as well as all day Saturday, Sunday, and on holidays.

Daily rate or annual permit?
The fee for a resident commuter parking permit, valid in all LIRR commuter parking lots within the town of Huntington and good for one year from the date of issue, is $75.
