Restaurants Blackfish Tavern and Branzino’s open in Northport

Blackfish Tavern, in the former Elijah Churchill location on Fort Salonga Road, opened this past week after lengthy renovations.

Two Fort Salonga Road restaurants held grand openings this past week, bringing new dining options to the area. Blackfish Tavern and Branzino’s Northport are now open for business after months (or years) of anticipation.

Blackfish Tavern
Located at 1031 Fort Salonga Road in the former Elijah Churchill building, Blackfish Tavern officially opened for lunch and dinner on September 29. The restaurant has been under construction since 2022.

The two-story space features a large bar at the center of the first floor surrounded by dining tables, while the second floor offers an expansive dining area and an outdoor patio.

Menu highlights include soups, salads, and handhelds such as tavern tacos, a Cubano sandwich and a shrimp burger. Guests can also choose from an extensive cocktail list, bottled and draft beers, and wine.

While the restaurant’s website is still under development, updates and information can be found on Facebook.

Branzino’s Northport
Heading west, Branzino’s Northport opened at 240 Fort Salonga Road, offering what it describes as an “upscale open-air dining experience.” The menu features prime steaks, fresh seafood and sushi, homemade pasta dishes and Neapolitan pizza.

To celebrate its opening, the restaurant is offering a weekday lunch special from 11:30am to 3pm: two courses for $24 per person. Branzino’s also runs weekday happy hour specials from 3 to 6pm, which include daily cocktail offerings.

This marks the second Branzino’s location, with the original on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington. For more information or to make a reservation, visit the restaurant online.

Branzino’s also opened a location in Northport, this one at 240 Fort Salonga Road, in the F45 and Lavish Nails and Spa shopping center.  Image via Facebook.
