With its grand opening around the corner, The Northport Hotel Restaurant is now taking reservations for brunch, lunch and dinner. The Italian steakhouse has seating for 175 people and will offer steaks, seafood and Italian-inspired dishes in a casual fine-dining atmosphere. The culinary staff is currently finalizing the menu; a full menu will be released on July 22, according to the restaurant website. The restaurant officially opens on August 1.
“I want it to feel like an old classic place,” said hotel and restaurant owner Kevin O’Neill in an interview with the Journal last spring. A fireplace, baby grand piano, long bar and high-top tables will greet guests as they enter the restaurant, which features a combination of crisp white and dark woods.
As you pass the bar, the dining area becomes more formal, and the space more expansive. White cloths line the tables, with circular booths to the right, in a room that can be made private when ceiling-to-floor shades are drawn. The restaurant – and hotel – are also ADA-compliant, with easy access and enough space for patrons with wheelchairs to easily navigate, a rarity in the Village.
O’Neill’s goal is to have one of the best restaurants around, with warm and welcoming touches, something that complements the restaurants down the block, he said, and helps make Northport a dining destination. His front desk concierge will be promoting his neighbors in the food business equally as well. “It makes the Village economically stronger,” he said.
Starting today, restaurant reservations can be made for dates in August and beyond. Dinner will be served seven days a week from 4-11pm, lunch hours are Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 3:30pm, and brunch will be served on weekends from 10am to 3:30pm.
Reservations for groups up to nine people can be booked here. For tables over nine or semi-private groups, email the hotel’s Guest Experience Manager Jennifer Tynan here.
