Northport Village favorite Nest on Main is celebrating its fifth anniversary today with festivities including raffles, giveaways, free samples and more, extending all weekend long. The milestone also kicks off a month of opportunity to help those less fortunate in our area and beyond.

On November 4, 2017 Donna Moschella launched the one-of-a-kind home marketplace, a “small seed of an idea” she said, that allows local artisans to showcase their work in a creative, supportive and engaging environment. When Nest on Main first opened, ten vendors had their work in the store; Nest now showcases over 60 small businesses, all local Long Islanders who rent space there or offer their work on a commission basis.

Native Long Islander and renowned interior designer Jennifer Scully joined Nest on Main in May of 2021. She immediately felt at home. “I love Donna, I think she’s a wonderful person, I feel very lucky to be part of that community,” she told the Journal. “It’s just a lovely group of people. Just very kind, generous, talented. It’s a great space.”

Jennifer’s Vegan Home NY boutique in Nest is a reflection of her spirit; she offers well-curated, high-quality designer goods from the United States and across the globe that highlight the importance of sustainable, ethical and cruelty-free design and lifestyle practices. Jennifer also makes a point to give back to her community through volunteer work and charitable donations, including her annual Help Mrs. Claus program, which she began over 10 years ago in an effort to fulfill Christmas wishes for underprivileged children in New York City and Long Island.

This weekend, Nest on Main’s fifth anniversary will run in conjunction with the first ever fundraiser for Help Mrs. Claus. As part of their annual Wagons of Wishes Toy Drive, Donna and company will also be raising money for the children of Help Mrs. Claus, with a portion of proceeds from its anniversary weekend donated to the non-profit organization. The toy drive will run through the end of November.

Nest on Main is located at 135 Main Street in Northport Village. Anniversary weekend celebrations will take place Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6. For up-to-date information, visit their Facebook page. You can follow Help Mrs. Claus on Facebook here.
