Work at the former Mobil gas station at the corner of Laurel Avenue and Fort Salonga Road in Northport Village is underway, a project that should be complete in the next 90 days, said Northport Village officials.
Moving onto the site will be a Bolla Market convenience store with a filling station consisting of six fueling pumps, including one diesel, Northport Village Administrator Roland Buzard told the Journal. The existing building will be renovated to accommodate the convenience store; for this location, Bolla Market has teamed up with Tim Hortons, which offers specialty coffee, donuts and breakfast sandwiches.
The site will be landscaped and evergreens planted as part of the project, Buzard said.
Bolla Management Corporation, based in Garden City, operates in the market, food and fuel industries. A now billion dollar business, the company runs more than 200 convenience stores in New York and New Jersey. CEO Harry Singh, of Old Westbury, emigrated to America from India in 1983. He founded the Bolla company in 1989.
