The spectacular production of Jersey Boys at the John W. Engeman theater gets five stars! Engaging, entertaining and full of energy – this is one of the best performances at the Engeman in recent years. The cast is top-notch, and fully captures the sound and spirit of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, while portraying their backstory and personal struggles seamlessly.

The vocal performances were especially impressive, with joyful renditions of classic hits like “Sherry,” “Can't Take My Eyes Off You,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “December, 1963 (Oh What a Night).”

The cast of Jersey Boys features Nick Bernardi as Tommy Devito, Stephen Cerf as Nick Massi, Joey Lavarco as Frankie Valli, and Sean McGee as Bob Gaudio – each with a long list of onstage experience including Broadway, Off Broadway and National Tour productions of Jersey Boys, among many others.

The dynamic foursome, just guys from “the neighborhood,” was both charismatic and captivating, portraying the group’s story from its humble (and mischievous) beginnings to its moments in the limelight and individual decisions thereafter.

Look around at the theater during Jersey Boys and you’ll see audience members smiling from ear to ear, singing along to the many feel-good hits. At the end of last week’s opening night production, the audience jumped to their feet with applause and began dancing.

Jersey Boys is a vibe – one with some cool attitudes, the “voice of an angel,” and dapper men with rhythm in flashy suits. Oh what a night, indeed.

Jersey Boys will run until May 26 with the following performance schedule: Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets start at $80. Tickets may be purchased by calling 631-261-2900, going online at www.engemantheater.com, or visiting the Engeman Theater Box Office at 250 Main Street in Northport Village.
