Engeman Theater announces 2025–2026 children’s theater season

The John W. Engeman Theater in Northport has announced its 2025–2026 Children’s Theater lineup, featuring a mix of well-known characters, magical stories and family-friendly performances. 

Here’s what’s coming to the stage:

Descendants: The Musical
September 20 through October 26, 2025
Based on Disney’s hit movie series, Descendants: The Musical brings together the teenage children of Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Jafar and the Evil Queen as they find their way at Auradon Prep. Packed with music, comedy and characters from Disney classics like Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, this high-energy show is about choosing your own path and rewriting your story.

Frosty
November 22 through December 28, 2025
A Northport holiday favorite returns! Join Jenny and her snowman friend Frosty as they work to save Chillsville from the snow-melting plans of Ethel Pierpot. With the help of her mom, the mayor and the audience, Jenny sets out to make it a Winter Wonderland for everyone.

Frozen Jr.
January 24 through March 1, 2026
Princesses Anna and Elsa take the stage in this adaptation of the Disney hit, featuring all the unforgettable songs from the original film. Frozen Jr. follows the royal sisters as they face danger and discover the strength of sisterhood and self-belief.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella
March 21 through April 26, 2026
The classic tale of kindness and dreams gets a fresh musical retelling in this timeless production. Follow Ella as she goes from servant to princess with the help of a little magic and a lot of heart.

Shrek The Musical
July 18 through August 23, 2026
The season wraps with everyone’s favorite ogre in Shrek the Musical. After his swamp is overrun by fairytale misfits, Shrek embarks on an unforgettable adventure filled with humor, friendship and a reminder that being different can be a superpower.
