Barnes & Noble opens in former Party City location in Commack
A new Barnes & Noble opens August 5 in Commack.
A new Barnes & Noble bookstore is set to open in Commack next week; located in Veterans Memorial Plaza in the former Party City space, the store is just two miles from the Jericho Turnpike Barnes & Noble that closed in 2024 when its lease ended and the site was redeveloped.
The new location will open to the public at 10am on Wednesday, August 5, with Long Island author Jen Calonita cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her book Isle of Ever. Author Sarah Beth Durst will also be on hand to sign copies of her newest book Sea of Charms. Costume character Biscuit the Dog will host special storytime events throughout the opening weekend.
The new store is one of two Barnes & Noble locations to open on August 5th, joining another in Livingston, New Jersey. Barnes & Noble has opened 10 stores in New York over the last three years, with four more anticipated later this year.
“We are very pleased to open this beautiful new Barnes & Noble in Commack,” said CEO James Daunt. “To return a major bookstore to the Commack community after an absence of two years is a particular cause for celebration.”
The Commack store is located at 58 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack, by Target and Michael’s.
