The much-loved leg lamp lighting returns to its original location, the old hardware store (and new Firefly) this Saturday at 6:30pm.

The annual tradition you’ve been waiting for: lighting of the tree, holiday music from the Northport Chorale, festively decorated fire trucks, plus a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Annual Leg Lamp Lighting

The much-loved leg lamp lighting returns to its original location, the old hardware store. Festivities begin at 6:30pm with a reception to follow. Enjoy performances from local groups including the Northport Tigerettes and Posey School of Dance, hot chocolate provided by Tim’s Shipwreck Diner, and all the small town merriment you can imagine. Keep up-to-date with the event by following The Firefly Artists on Facebook. The event is being paired with a season-long food drive for Island Harvest, so bring a can to donate!

A Christmas Story, The Musical

Nine-year-old Ralphie Parker only wants one thing for Christmas – an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Rebuffed at every turn, Ralphie plots numerous schemes to achieve his desperate desire for the coveted BB gun. Based on the beloved movie, A Christmas Story, The Musical is the perfect holiday gift for the entire family.

Performances are as follows: Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Some Wednesday and Sunday evenings are available. Tickets are $85 for Saturday evenings and $80 for all other performances and may be purchased by calling 631-261-2900, going online at www.engemantheater.com, or by visiting the Engeman Theater Box Office.
