Join the SYJCC for this original documentary that chronicles the life of three local Holocaust survivors: Pearl Friend, Irene Halegua and Meri Usherovitz. Created by SYJCC teens in “Names, Not Numbers,” a unique program where students learn to combine research, journalism, and video production to capture and share the stories of Holocaust survivors so that they are never forgotten. Northport Symphony Orchestra’s Spring Concert
Friday, April 28, 8pm
Northport High School, 154 Laurel Hill Road, Northport
A classical music concert featuring Symphony No. 5 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikowsky, as well as compositions by Samuel Taylor-Coleridge and Ernest Chausson. The evening’s guest conductor is Eric Mahl. Tickets are $10 at the door. These concerts are made possible by ticket sales and by donations from advertisers, donors, and audience members. Visit the NSO website for more information.

Somehow Sorry

Northport band and rock act Somehow Sorry is taking its show to the newly opened Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame this weekend. The band lineup consists of singer and guitarist Raine McCarthy, guitarist and singer John McCarthy, bass guitarist Robert Jay and drummer James Bosko. Somehow Sorry is influenced by many rock, and folk-rock bands; their most recent release “Same Great Taste” is a full-length album recorded in 2021. The event is free with general admission purchase.
